The triple paperweight is a design which was first created in the mid 1800s by Baccarat and a few other rare examples known by other makers of the 'classical' era. It an elegant form and tricky to get the balance correct so that the overall form is pleasing to the eye. The three weights must be perfectly sized and placed to form an elegant silhouette. In modern times only a few makers have reproduced similar triple weights, Baccarat made different triple weights and individual studios like Rick Ayotte and John Deacons have also succeeded in making elegant triple paperweights. This is the only 20th Century triple paperweight that Saint-Louis has made. It incorporates all the best that a collector would wish to see from the famed maker, a closepack millefiori base, a spaced silhouette cane on upset muslin mid, and a spectacular rose cane on moss crown. Limited to just 12 pieces this would be a highlight of any collection!
