Riedel made millefiori paperweights in Polaun in the Czech Republic circa 1870 up to about 1900. The millefiori canes found in the paprweight range from simple cogs and flowers and combinations of these elements in complex canes, as well as uncommon rose canes. The canes are frequently set in transparent colored cushions frequently speckled with bits for mica. Green is the most common ground color found but they also produced weights with red, blue, and clear grounds. On rare occasions they will be signed with a signature "R" cane.
